04/15: The Aftermath

Some observations by others and me on the events of the past week, specifically, and the American situation, in general…

-The rank-and-file members of law enforcement did a damn good job, Obama in his remarks was pathetic, and the most annoying of all of the law enforcement and political officials was the U.S. Attorney for the Boston area, Carmen Ortiz with her, ‘Now is the start of my journey’ crap on Friday Night.

-Much praise is being heaped upon Boston Mayor Thomas Menino for rising out of his hospital bed and staying directly involved in the hunt for the terrorists and, also, for retorting to a reporter who asked if he had any comment on Terrorist #2, ‘I don’t care’.  However, don’t be fooled into thinking this guy is not a Dhimmi.

From The Daily Caller, Patrick Howley reporting, we learn:

Suspected Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev attended a Massachusetts mosque that made a controversial deal with a Boston city agency that allowed it to buy land at a lower-than-market price in exchange for various token services to the Boston community, despite the mosque’s links to some radical anti-American figures

The 19-year-old Tsarnaev attended mosque at the Islamic Society of Boston (ISB) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The construction of that cultural center, which opened in Roxbury, Massachusetts in 2004 near Roxbury Community College, was marked by a controversial apparent “government subsidy” from the city of Boston to the ISB.

The Boston Redevelopment Authority, which is the city’s municipal planning agency and which is comprised of mayoral appointees, conveyed the land for the ISB’s purchase in 2000 at more than $400,000.

However, the city of Boston only charged ISB $175,000 for the land, with an agreement that the ISB perform other services for the city to make up the $225,000 remainder. The ISB agreed to deliver a series of lectures at Roxbury Community College, to assist the Roxbury Community College Foundation in its fundraising efforts, and to maintain a Boston “play area.”

The deal was later described in media coverage as “an apparent financial handout” and a “possible government subsidy” from the city of Boston to the ISB.

The ISB has raised concerns in the past for its ties to radical figures in the Muslim world.

Islamic cleric Yusuf Abdullah al-Qaradawi, who said in a 1995 speech that Islam would “conquer America” and “conquer Europe,” reportedly appeared on IRS forms as one of the ISB’s trustees.

ISB trustee Walid Fitaihi, who wrote that Jews “would be punished for their oppression, murder and rape of the worshippers of Allah,” helped broker the ISB’s deal with the Boston Redevelopment Authority.

Menino was the Mayor during this whole episode.

-I don’t see how any sensible person can argue with Allen West [tip of the fedora to Villi Wilson]:

Let me be very clear, the terrorist attack in Boston and evolving events indicate we have a domestic radical Islamic terror problem in America. We must no longer allow the disciples of political correctness and the acolytes of the Muslim Brotherhood (CAIR, ISNA, MPAC, MAS) to preach to us some misconceived definition of tolerance and subservience. When tolerance becomes a one way street it leads to cultural suicide. Carlos Bledsoe in Little Rock, MAJ Hasan in Ft Hood, the Ft Dix Six, Faisal Shahazad in NYC Times Square — these are just the examples I can type now. When Rep Peter King attempted to have hearings on domestic terrorism he was attacked for being racist. No more excuses. No more apologies. We are in a war of ideological wills, and we shall prevail….

But only if we regain that God-given vigor that made America a great nation, that spirit, verve, and moral strength we have allowed to be dissipated in an orgy of Narcissistic Nihilism.

-Frank Gaffney hopes that the terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon will serve as a wake-up call [tip of the fedora to Joe The Patriotic]:

Welcome to the phenomenon of global jihad. It is time to dispense with the illusion that we are safe from foreign threats because we have put, as President Obama repeatedly insisted during the last campaign, “al Qaeda on the path to defeat,” thanks to the death of Osama bin Laden and the drone-delivered thinning of the ranks of his lieutenants.

The Chechen jihadists in Boston may or may not have been associated with, or even inspired by, bin Laden’s terror network. But in the days and weeks to come we are likely to discover that they identify with its goals: 1) imposing the supremacist Islamic doctrine of shariah – a totalitarian, brutally repressive and anti-Constitutional ideology – on the entire world, Muslim and non-Muslim alike. And 2) recreating a caliphate (or a similar theo-political entity) to rule according to that doctrine.

The same is true of other violent jihadists of the Sunni and Shia stripes, including, respectively, the Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia and the regime in Iran. Ditto the so-called non-violent Muslim Brotherhood. In fact, that organization – which is the mother-ship for virtually all modern Sunni jihadists – favors an approach better described as pre-violent: The Brotherhood is perfectly prepared to use violence when it will be effective. Until then, they will adopt other measures (which they call “civilization jihad”) to create conditions that would be conducive to the realization of the goals they share with all other Islamists.

I suspect that, like me, Mr. Gaffney does not expect anyone on the Left to open their eyes to the Reality, but hopes some of our brethren on the Right will finally waken from their slumber.

He continues:

We have thus systematically violated one of the cardinal principles of warfare dating back at least to the ancient Chinese strategist Sun Tsu, who warned that you cannot defeat an enemy you do not know. Worse, we have allowed an enemy we could and should have known long ago to dictate to us what we are allowed to understand, think, and do about them.

So many Dhimmis, so little time.

He believes it imperative that we ‘adopt the war footing required to prevail over this threat here at home and elsewhere, before more of us suffer the perils of global holy war’ and he’s quite right.

However, even such a perceptive and knowledgable man such as Mr. Gaffney makes a fatal error when he writes [emphasis mine]:

Whether we choose to acknowledge it or not, we are a nation at war. And not simply in Afghanistan, but worldwide. Not with every Muslim, but with every Muslim that believes shariah must reign supreme and will do whatever is necessary to bring that about.

As long as they swear fealty to The Koran, each and every Muslim is a potential Jihadist, because that’s what their belief system demands of them.  The pressure exerted, not by Islam’s leaders, but by the book itself is relentless.  The core of this religion, this cult, is unrelenting war against the Infidel.  You cannot be a Mohammedin in good standing if you do not, in some way, wage war against the Unbelievers.  The War we are engaged in is a clash of world views, of cultures, that are incompatible with each other.  The God of the Jews and Christians is not Allah — that is a myth perpetrated by cunning and tyrannical frauds.  Allah is an arbitrary and false deity, who harbors no love for Mankind, who seeks to convince men that there is no Free Will.  There is no freedom in Islam, only submission — enslavement of the soul to a cruel and demonic force.

-Kurt Schlichter:

We had better do it — we the people — because this Administration certainly won’t.

-Jeff Goldstein:

After 911, one of the things I wrote about on several occasions was the possibility of Islamic terrorism coming to the streets of the US, much in the way the happen in, say, Israeli pizza parlors.  I noted at the time that I thought such a strategy by Al Qaeda and its affiliates would be a huge tactical mistake — that Americans are willing to accept a bit of soul-searching and the faux-earnest, politically correct condemnations of their own supposed culpability that the “progressived” and many academics would invariably toss off in an orgasmic fit of intellectual onanism just so long as they weren’t constantly confronted with an ongoing war waged in the homeland.

Because once that begins happening, all bets are off.

I’m still convinced this is the case, though the progressives have made great strides in turning much of the country into a cocooned nanny-state in the intervening years. So it remains to be seen, should this attack be part of an ongoing war declared by Islamic radicals, whether such a strike will wake a sleeping giant, or wake a sleeping pussy. Cat.

I believe that we can count on, say, thirty percent of our fellow Americans, but, as for the rest, so so many are, sadly, lost causes.  Too many of us have taken the Soma and only care about preserving our pleasures and luxuries and not willing to shoulder the responsibilities that come with being free.

The numbers of us who choose to live in The Camp Of The Saints are small, but we are determined to preserve freedom, liberty, Right Reason, and Morality — to fight for Good, to see Evil beaten — and that means we possess a lot of potential.
